Join EDLG in supporting the #AccessLaw2020 campaign
Thanks to those who attended our EDLG meeting and Access Law Hui on 4 December. We had a really useful discussion with Chrissie Cowan, Chair of Access Alliance and we are excited to be part of the #AccessLaw2020 campaign.
We are collaborating with Access Alliance towards legislative change by supporting this campaign, which calls for the introduction of an Accessibly Act in 2020. The campaign gets fully underway in mid-January and is a strong call for action.
By March, the Government will need to make a commitment to draft a framework and a bill before the next election. To achieve this goal, EDLG needs to be asking our politicians in Christchurch to advocate for change. We need your voices to make it happen - so, let’s make this the EDLG's New Year's resolution.
A meeting will be held to organise a plan for advocating in Ōtautahi on 14 February 2020 in the Charles Upham room at the Papanui RSA, 55 Bellvue Ave, 10am to 12noon. Please join us in leaving the longest lasting legacy for EDLG that we can.
We already have resources from #AccessLaw2020 available on our website, with links to a social media toolkit to help you have your say.
Take the best care over Christmas and we look forward to sharing our New Year’s resolution with you through #AccessLaw2020.
