24 November 2021: Zoom hui, Discussion of the disability support system transformation.
NETWORK ZOOM MEETING: 24 NOVEMBER, 10.30AM - 12PM (ONLINE EVENT)
Disability Leadership Canterbury (EDLG Trust) is thrilled by the recent government announcements to transform our disability supports and the mechanisms that bring accessibility up to best practice. The structure will be a new Ministry for Disabled People and the introduction of the Accessibility for New Zealander's bill.
This is the next stage of the partnership between the disability community and government and is the realisation of many years of hard work. The EDLG (since renamed Disability Leadership Canterbury) was fundamental to bringing change to Canterbury after the earthquakes. We had and continue to have, kōrero in our community about access and disability support.
At our Network Meeting on Wednesday 24 November, we will be discussing the recent disability support system transformation announcement with representatives from the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Social Development. We will be sharing more information about how this links to the roll-out of the Enabling Good Lives approach across Aotearoa, including how to be involved as this kaupapa progresses.
NZSL interpreters will be present.
Due to the ongoing uncertainty over Alert levels this will be held on Zoom, please follow this link or click the button below to join the meeting.
